The POP program works in tandem with MID-KANSAS COMMUNITY ACTION’S Higher Achievement Together (HAT) and Housing and Beyond (H&B) programs to provide specialized services for young adults.

What sets the POP program apart?

We have a dedicated board of young adults calling the shots to make sure the help needed is the support given, even in difficult or often over-looked areas. Our board members have experienced financial hardship and homelessness, so they’re able to give us valuable insight into what the areas of highest need are and how to help young adults address them in an empowering way. Regular meetings with the board give us the opportunity to receive relevant feedback and continue to improve POP.

We strive to give young adults the resources to stabilize themselves and build lasting self-reliance. To that end, we offer skills-building resources and classes in a variety of domains including financial literacy, job searching, and other life skills. A worker can work with applicants to develop a plan for self-advancement, support to be given, resources to leverage, and next steps to take.

We are looking for board members! If you enjoy being involved and making a difference in the lives of young people, we would love to hear from you. Call (or text!) Gabrielle Brown at 316-644-2720 or send an email to learn more.
