Why our Huggy Heart Beats for our Work:
“It’s amazing being able to deliver skills that stabilize their homes, and their families, with less havoc and more organization.”
– Mid-KS CAP Staff
The Mid-Kansas Community Action Program, Inc. is a community-based, non-profit organization that helps people move out of poverty. We create and manage programs and services focused on expanding community housing options, education, family development, and economic support.
We focus our efforts on quality and authenticity by embracing an organization Prime Directive: “To provide an outstanding and efficient work environment with professional, well trained and empowered employees; to diversify and expand programs; and to utilize education,
passion, integrity, commitment to excellence, and innovative approaches in being responsive to community needs and in delivery of services.”
To qualify as a Community Action Agency, a program must have a governing board consisting of at least one-third democratically selected representatives of low-income people, one-third local public officials or their designees, and the remainder representatives of the private sector. Mid-KS CAP upholds the “Tripartite Tradition”, and is proud to work with our board to help people and change lives.
Mid-KS CAP can’t solve the problems of poverty by ourselves. We count on having the best employees, the best volunteers, the best leaders, and the best partners to discover the best solutions around.
