Joyce Stockham is a seasoned veteran when it comes to helping individuals and families. After 15 years providing direct employment and training services to limited-income individuals and families, it was a natural move to leadership and program design and development. Joyce is a Certified Community Action Professional, and works closely with state and local organizations to address and eliminate poverty across Kansas focusing primarily in South Central Kansas.

Kay Patteson brings twelve years' experience in the housing industry. She has successfully managed Senior Tax Credit Property and Multi Family Tax Credit Property. Additionally, she has expertise in working with Section 8 Housing Programs. Her certifications Housing Qualities Standards (HQS), Tax Credit specialist and Accredited Residential Management. Kay is dedicated to providing safe and affordable housed. Her passion is helping Low income individuals and families find a unit they can call home.
Community Support Coordinators:
Kristina Young is a Master’s level licensed Social Worker and brings with her 18 years experience in the social service arena. Kristina has been a trainer in a diverse number of topics such as parenting, child and parent reintegration and various self help topics. She strives to assist customers in setting and achieving goals. She loves being able to celebrate and appreciate the differences between rural and city atmospheres.
Brittany has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and is currently in the Advanced Standing Master Social Work program at Wichita State. She has 10 years of experience working in the social service field. She has worked with developmentally disabled adults as direct care staff and as a shift supervisor. She has also worked with special needs students in the school setting. Brittany has spent many hours volunteering with the annual Medical Mission, at Ronald McDonald House, and local homeless shelters. Her passion is helping those in need by teaching them the tools to work towards self-advocacy and maintaining stability in their daily lives.
Mike has spent the majority of his thirty years of professional services in the field of corrections assisting persons in both a supervisory and non-supervisory position. He has experience in individual in county jails, juvenile detention, day reporting and residential re-entry centers. He has a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and Psychology and is an information resource for those both seeking and those disseminating information. He doesn’t consider himself more important than the people seeking assistance. Mike sees his mission to consistently remain humble and to remember that “misfortune is but one good door knock away from being my best friend”. He has volunteering spirit, enjoys working with computers and freelance photography.
Libby brings a passion and dedication to helping others in their time of need. She is from a small town in Kansas and was introduced into social services 1993. Libby has a Bachelors in Social Work and has worked the State of Kansas and non-profit organizations providing services in Adoption, Foster Care, Private Adoption, Recruitment, and Family Support Work. Libby is a natural advocate for individuals and families that struggle and encourages them to be the “best they can be”. She enjoys working with families and providing them with foundation to make their own path.
Max Pierce brings nineteen years of experience in various employment opportunities with the State of Kansas. Max has been involved with assisting individuals and families as an Eligibility Specialist and Resource Officer in the Department of Children and Families. Additionally, he is experienced in both auditing and program services in the Medicaid waiver programs. Max’s experience also includes working with children as a Placement Coordinator in a foster care agency. With a very positive outlook on all things, Max channels that into his work and customers. His passion is helping individuals reach their potential.
Jennifer brings eight years of experience as an administrative assistant. She is experienced in greeting customer, managing phones and providing initial information. Jennifer is excited to be involved in the process of helping eliminate poverty and helping people help themselves. She is a part of the team to support Mid-KS CAP as a resource to help fight poverty and the opportunity for all to be successful in life. Jennifer is the first face of Mid-KS CAP and wants you to know that "we can all be successful together".
